1. International Friendship Day is observed on 30 July.
International Friendship Day is observed globally on 30th July to mark the importance of friends and friendship in life. This day has also advocated the role that friendship plays in promoting peace in several cultures across the world.
In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the International Friendship Day with an aim to forge a strong bond of friendship of people of various countries irrespective of race, color, gender, religion, etc.
2. Varun Sridhar has appointed as the CEO of Paytm Money.
Paytm Money has appointed Varun Sridhar as the new Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the Company. He will replace the former MD&CEO Pravin Jadhav who resigned from the startup due to differences with the management of Paytm.

It includes Ahmednagar, Nashik, Chandrapur, Solapur, Jalgaon, and Satara in Maharastra and Dharwad, Mysuru, and Kodagu in Karnataka.

4. ADB approved 3 million $ grant to India to combat Covid-19.
Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved USD 3 million grant to India from its Asia Pacific Disaster response fund to further support the government's emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

5. IIT-Kanpur and PFC signs agreement in smart grid technology.
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology- Kanpur for Traning, Research, and Entrepreneurship Development in Smart Grid Technology. the Agreement was on a virtual platform. the objective of the pact is to provide support to IIT-Kanpur in developing infrastructure for research and development on smart grid technology.
Under the agreement, PFC will provide financial assistance of worth Rs 2,38,97000 to IIT-Kanpur.

6. HRD Ministry to be renamed as the Ministry of Education.
The Union Cabinet has approved the change in the name of the HRD ministry. The present HRD Ministry is Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The name change was a key recommendation of the draft New Education Policy. The HRD ministry name was adopted in 1985 when the prime minister was Rajiv Gandhi. The new National Education Policy (NEP) will replace the existing National Policy on Education which was first formulated in 1986.
7. Bollywood action director Parvez Khan has passed away.
Bollywood action director, Parvez Khan passed away. He had been working in the film industry since 1986. some of his films are Andhadhun, Badlapur, Bullett Raja, Fukrey, Ra-one, Johnny Gaddar, The Legend of Bhagat Singh.
8. First manhole cleaning robot "BANDICOOT" at Guwahati.
Guwahati Development Department Ministry has inaugurated the first manhole cleaning robot "BANDICOOT" to ensure minimal human involvement to clean the sewers. Guwahati is the first city in the entire Northeast region to get a manhole cleaning robot.
The BANDICOOT robot is also the first of its kind in the world that was developed by a start-up India company called Genrobortics under the Make in India initiative.
