1. National Nutrition Week: 1st September.

National Nutrition Week is observed from 1st September to 7th September to provide knowledge among people about the importance of nutrition and its importance for the human body, for better health.
The theme for National Nutrition Month 2020 is Eat Right, Bite by Bite.

2. UP government launches, 'Major Dhyan Chand Vijaypath Yojana'.

The UP Govt. has been launched  "Major Dhyan Chand Vijaypath Yojana" to give road connectivity to the 19 international players from the state of Uttar Pradesh.

3. CISF develops in-house mobile app 'Pensioners Corner".

This mobile app has been created by The Central Industrial Security Force(CISF to reach to the pensioners and to bring them on to the digital platform as a one-stop solution. The mobile app comprises with the inbuilt grievance redressal mechanism and will also o contain information about all important circulars such as job opportunities.

4. UAE's DMCC launches "Agriota E-Marketplace".

The government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has rolled out a technology-driven agri-commodity trading and sourcing platform "Agriota E-Marketplace". This will help in bridging the gap between millions of rural farmers in India and the UAE's food industry.

 5. GoI enhances prize money in the National Sports Awards.

The Union Minister of Youth Affairs and sports, Kiren Rijiju has announced an enhancement in the prize money in four of the seven categories of the National Sports and adventure awards.
  • The Prize money for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award has been increased to 25 lakh rupees from the previous amount of 7.5 lakh rupees.
  • Arjuna Award has been enhanced to 15 lakh rupees from 5 lakh.
  • The Dhronacharya (Lifetime) awardees, who were earlier given 5 lakh rupees will now be given 15 lakh rupees as cash prize, while Dhronacharya per awardee.
  • Dhyanchand Awardees will be given 10 lakh rupees instead of 5 lakh rupees.

6. Lewis Hamilton wins F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2020.

Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton (Great Britain) has won the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix 2020 at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. This was his 5th win of the season. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes-Finland) came second followed by Max Verstappen (Red Bull- Netherlands) in third place.

7. Dwayne Bravo becomes 1st bowler to scalp 500 wickets in T20 cricket.

West Indians All-Rounder, Dwayne John Bravo became the first bowler in cricket to scalp 500 wickets in Twenty20 matches. Bravo took the wicket of Rahkeem Cornwall (18) to register his 500th wicket. Dwayne bravo achieved the feat in his 459 matches in the shortest format.

8. Former President and a great leader of Congress Pranab Mukharjee passes away.

He was passed away at the age of 84. He had tested positive for the coronavirus disease before undergoing successful surgery to remove a brain clot. He was born in the village of Mirati in Birbhum district of West Bengal. He was the fifth president to receive this Bharat Ratna award. He was the 13th president of India.

9. India withdraws from Russia Military exercise Kavakaz.

India has withdrawn its participation from the Multilateral Military Exercise "Kavkaz 2020" to be held in Russia between 15 to 26 September. Russia and Indian are privileged strategic partners. However, due to COVID-19 and consequent difficulties in exercise, India has decided not to send a contingent this year to Kavkaz-2020.

10. The World Bank stopped the publication of its 'Doing Business" report.

World Bank has suspended the publication of its "Doing Business" report to probe data collection irregularities in the annual ranking of countries' business and investment climates. According to the bank "A number of irregularities have been reported regarding changes to the data in the song Business 2018 and Doing business 2020 reports, published in October 2017 and 2019.
