1. World Suicide Prevention Day: 10 September.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed on 10 September every year to raise awareness to prevent cases of suicide. This day is organized by the International Association for Suicide Prevention. And this day is co-sponsored by WHO.

2. 'The State of Young Child in India' report has been released.

Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu has released "The State fo Young Child in India" report. The report was prepared by a policy advocacy organization, Mobile Creches. The report measured Health and Nutrition in the country.

3. International Day to Protect Education from Attack: 9 September.

International Day to Protect Education from Attack is observed globally on 9th September. In proclaiming the International Day to Protect Education from Attack to be celebrated for the first time in 2020. This day draws attention to the plight of more than 75 million 3 to 18 years olds living in 35 crisis-affected countries and to their urgent need for educational support. It expresses concern over the effects of continued violence on these children and their ability to access education.
This Day was established by a unanimous decision of the UN General Assembly, calling on UNESCO AND UNICEF to raise awareness of the plight of millions of children.

5. Bank of India launched the "Signature Visa Debit Card" on his 115th Foundation Day.

This card has launched for who is maintaining an average quarterly balance of Rs 10 lakhs and above. This card will have a spending limit of up to ₹5 lakhs on POS & e-commerce and 1 lakh on ATM. It will also provide Insurance against fraudulent transactions.

6. CM of Haryana launches "Apka Mitra" chatbot for UG courses.

CM of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar launched Educational WhatsApp Chatbot "Apka Mitra" & online Admission Platform for Under Graduate (UG) courses in government-aided and self-financed colleges for the new academic session 2020-21.
This is the first of its kind educational WhatsApp Chatbot to resolve admission related queries of the students. Students can send a message on Whatsapp chatbot umber 7419444449 to get information regarding admission &scholarship.

7. Organic Food Processing Unit launched in Uttar Pradesh.

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries inaugurated Organic Food Processing Unit in Uttar Pradesh. with the inauguration of this food processing unit, 5000 farmers will be benefitted and it is expected to leverage an investment of Rs 50.33 crores. The Unity namely M/S Organic India Pvt. Ltd is set up with a total cost of Rs. 55.13 crores.

8. RBI ceased the Banking operations of Aditya Birla Idea Payment Bank.

Reserve Bank of India has ceased the Banking Operation by the Aditya Birla Idea Payments (ABIP) Bank under Banking Regulation Act 1949 with effect from July 28, 2020. Now the bank company could not able to work successfully and applied for voluntary winding up by the Vodafone Idea Limited wich holds 51% in ABIP bank and the remaining 49% by Grasim Industries Limited.

9. Karnataka CM inaugurates flyover named after Veer Savarkar. 

Karnataka Chief Minister, B.S Yediyurappa inaugurated the "Veer Savarkar" flyover in Bengaluru. The inauguration of the 400-meter long flyover built on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Road in the city.

10. India Ratings forecasts a contraction of 11.8% in FY21 GDP.

The Indian arm of Fitch Ratings, Indian Ratings and research has projected Indias FY21 GDP growth forecasts at -11.8% as against its earlier prediction off -5.3%.

11. Father of Indian Radio Astronomy Govind Swarup passes away. 

Father's of India's Radio Astronomy, Prof Govind Swarup passed away. He was the founding director of the National Center for Radio Astrophysics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
He was the key person behind the concept, design, and installation of the Ooty Radio Telescope(India) and the Gaint Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT), which established India as one of the leading countries for radio astronomy research. He is well known for his many important research contributions in several areas of astronomy and astrophysics.

  • He served as president of the Astronomical Society of India during 1975-77.

12. Andhra Pradesh CM Flag off south India's first Kisan rail.

The country's 2nd and south India's first "Kisan Train" was flagged off from Anantapur in Andra Pradesh to Adarsh Nagar Railway Station in Delhi. Andra Pradesh CM & Union Minister for Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar flagged off the train, via a video link from New Delhi and Amaravati.

13. ISA host World Solar Technology Summit.

On 8th September 2020, The 1st World Solar Technology Summit was held virtually. This summit was inaugurated by the PM Modi. The aim of the summit is to pay attention to the state of the art technologies and next-generation technologies. Such technologies will play an important role in making solar energy more efficiently. The first World Solar Technology Summit is organized by the International Solar Alliance along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as the convenor of ISA Global Leadership Task Force on Innovation, to focus on new Technologies and Innovations in the field of Solar.

13. SBI to launch a new loan scheme SAFAL for organic cotton growers.

State Bank of  India is planning to launch a loan scheme SAFAL for the organic cotton growers. The product safe and fast Agriculture Loan is primarily focussed on organic cotton growers who don't have any credit history.

16. Paresh Rawal becomes the new chairman of the National School of Drama.

He has been appointed by the President Ram Nath Kovind. The National School of Drama is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It was set up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as one of its constituent units in 1959. In 1975, It became an independent entity and was registered as an autonomous organization. 

17. PM Modi to launch "Pradhan Matri Matsya Sampada Yojana".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will digitally launch the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. Along with the scheme, the PM will also launch the e-Gopala application. This scheme aims to enhance fish production to 70 lakh tonnes by 2024-25 and double the income of the fish farmers.
