1. National Moon Day is celebrated as-

National Moon Day on July 20th commemorates the day man first walked on the moon in 1969. On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first humans to the moon.

2. Ossouka Raponda becomes the 1st woman PM of Gabon.

Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda has been appointed as the first woman & the 12th prime minister of Gabon.

3. The Uttarakhand govt has decided to generate electricity from waste.

The Uttarakhand Government has decided to convert waste generated in the state to electricity under an initiative titled "Waste to Energy". According to Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB), this waste can generate up to 5 megawatts of electricity and curb pollution.

4. CBSE Collaborates with IBM to integrate the AI curriculum.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has integrated a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) course for class XI and XII in the current Academic Year (2020-2021) with the collaboration with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation). The IBM AI curriculum is a part of CBSE's Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) program.

5. Tamil Nadu govt going to set up a Turmeric Research Institute in Erode.

The Tamil Nadu Government has proposed to establish a Turmeric Research Institute at Modakurichi in the district to enhance production and help the growers for more income.

6. Indian Railways recently reveals a post-Corona coach.

The Indian Railways has unveiled a prototype of its railway coach, labeling it as Post COVID Coach.
The design plan has new features, like handsfree water dispensers, soap dispensers, washroom facilities, toilet gates that required no hand touch, and more. The coach also has copper coated handles in place, which is believed to reduce the risk of infection. The seating material used in this post-COVID coach will come coated with titanium dioxide and the coaches would be fitted with plasma air purifiers.

7. NABARD sanctions Rs 795cr to West Bengal.

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 795cr for reconstructing infrastructure damage by the cyclone Amphan that ripped through West Bengal in May.

8. Federal Bank has reappointed Shyam Srinivasan as the CEO & MD of the bank.

On Friday Federal Bank has received the approval for the reappointment of Shyam Shrinivasan as MD&CEO till September 22, 2021.
