1. World Chess Day is celebrated on 20 July every year.

United Nations celebrates globally World Chess Days on 20 July every year. On this day the International Chess Federation (FIDE) was established in Paris, in 1924. To celebrate the International Chess Day 2020 top chess personalities will participate in a high-level virtual event "Chess for Recovering Better".

2. United Arab launches the "Hope" mission to 'Mars'.

The United Arab Emirates a mission titled as "Hope" has been launched to "Mars" to provide a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere for the first time, studying daily and seasonal changes. 
The "HOPE" mission to "Mars" also called Emirates Mats Mission cost $200 million and it is becoming the UAE's first foray into interplanetary exploration. With the launch, UAE is targeting to build a human settlement on Mars within the next 100 years.

3. "PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi" mobile app launched.

The mobile app of PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM) has been launched to offer a user-friendly digital interface to the Lending Institutions (LIs) as well as to their field functionaries in order to source and process loan applications to the street vendors under the scheme. This mobile app boosting the use of digital technology and will ensure maximum coverage of the scheme.

4. An e-portal "ASPIRE" launches by ICAT. 

An e-portal named "Automobile Solutions Portal for Industry, Research & Education (ASPIRE)" has been launched by the International  Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) to improve the technological capability of Indian automotive sector with the help of exchange of knowledge & expertise, to make them self reliant and to enable the growth of automobile sector including overall socio-economic progress of the country.

5. P Praveen Siddharth appointed as PS to President of India.

P Praveen Sidharth has been appointed as the new personal secretary to the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind. He is already serving as an officer on special deity(OSD) in the President's Secretariat. He will replace Vikram Singh.

6. Ashwini Kumar Tewari becomes a new MD&CEO of SBI Cards.

Ashwini Kumar Tewari becomes the new MD & CEO of SBI Cards. This new appointment will be valid for two years and his appointment will come into effect from August 1, 2020. He was nominated by the parent State Bank of India for the position.

7. Lewis Hamilton won the 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton won the Formula-1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2020 at Hungaroring Mogyorod, Hungary.
Max Verstappen (Dutch-Red Bull) was second, followed by Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes- Finland ) at the third spot.

8. ICC T20 World Cup Postponed to 2022.

International Cricket Council's (ICC's) announced that T20 World Cup has been postponed to 2022. This year T20 Men's World Cup scheduled to be played in Australia in October-November 2020. 

9. India's first public EV Charging Plaza inaugurated at Delhi.

India's 1st ever Public EV(Electric Vehicle) charging plaza has been inaugurated by the Minister for Power, New & Renewable energy, R.K Singh at Chelmsford Club in New Delhi. This Plaza has established by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in collaboration with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to make e-mobility ubiquitous and convenient in India.

10. Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon has passed away.

Madhya Pradesh governor Lalji Tandon has been passed away today. He was undergoing treatment since June 11 and passed away after a prolonged illness. 
Lalji Tandon has served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Parishad for two terms and was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Lucknow in 2009.
