1. Harbhajan Singh becomes a new Brand Ambassador of eBikeGO.

A new e-mobility start-up, eBikeGo has appointed Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh as its brand ambassador. He will help the company to upgrade itself and will also have an active presence on the company's website and campaigns across media.

2. Rakesh Asthana appointed as a new DG of BSF.

The government of India has appointed Rakesh Asthana as the new director-general of the Border Security  Force (BSF). Presently, DG Indo-Tibet border Police (ITBP) chief S S Deswal was holding the additional charge of BSF since March this year.

3. India's first bullion index named "Bulldex" to launch by MCX.

Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) is going to launch India's first bullion index named "Bulldex", on August 24,2020. MCX Commodity Exchange of India Ltd is an independent commodity exchange based in India. It was established in 2003 and is based in Mumbai. It is India's largest commodity derivatives exchange.

4. Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches "Swasthya" & "ALEKH".

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the tribal health and Nutrition Portal "Swasthya" and an e-newsletter on health and nutrition "ALEKH". The portal "Swasthya" will offer health and nutrition-related information of the tribal population of India on a single platform and "ALEKH" is a quarterly e-newsletter on health and nutrition. The Ministry has also announced the opening of the National Overseas Portal and National Tribal Fellowship Portal.

5. Government of Chhattisgarh to launch the "Padhai Tuhar Para" scheme.

The State Government of Chhattisgarh has announced to launch a student-centric scheme named as "Pashai Tuhar Para" to study with the help of the community in their localities and villages, in view of the suspension of classes due to coronavirus outbreak.

6. AIFF partners SAI to launch "E-Pathshala"

All India Football Federation (AIFF) has launched the web platform "E-Pathshala" in partnership with the Sports Authority of India (SAI). 

7. Ashok Lavasa resigns as Election Commissioner of India.  

Ashok Lavasa has submitted his resignation to President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. He is set to join the Philippines-based Asian Development Bank as the vice-president from September 2020

8. GP Garg appointed as the new executive director.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has appointed GP Garg as executive director (ED). He has been closely associated with Sebi's initiative on financial literacy and investor education in the country.

9. MPEDA set up their Quality Control Lab in Porbandar.

Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) has been set up Quality Control Lab in Porbandar, Gujarat. This lab will offer tests for seafood processors as well as exporters to conform to product safety as per international regulatory requirements.

10. Google partners with CWC for flood forecasting initiatives.

Google and Central Water Commission (CWC) of India have launched the flood forecasting initiatives across India for the past several months.
