1. International Day for Disaster Reduction: 13 October.

The United Nations International Day for Disaster Reduction is observed globally on 13th October. The Day is celebrated to promote a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction and also celebrates how people and communities around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters and raising awareness about the importance of reining in the risks that they face.
This day is all about governance. This day was started in 1989 after a call by the United Nations General Assembly for a day to promote a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction.

2. Kerela becomes 1st state to have completely digital, hi-tech classrooms.

The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan has declared that the state public education sector completely digital as Kerala has become the first state in the country to have high-tech classrooms in all its public schools. The high-tech classrooms in all its public schools. 
This high-tech classroom project was implemented by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) with financial assistance from Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board.

3. Haryana govt launches mobile water testing labs.

The Government of Haryana has launched a mobile water testing laboratory van, fully equipped with a multi-parameter system containing analyzers, sensors, probes, and instruments meant for assessing water quality.

4. ADB approves 300 million US dollar loan for Rajasthan's water supply.

The Asian Development Bank and India have signed a 300 million US dollar loan to finance inclusive and sustainable water supply and sanitation infrastructure and service in 14 secondary towns of the state of Rajasthan.
This project aims to provide better quality and more sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) services in the project's towns. It will improve the life of towns in Rajasthan including for the poor and vulnerable after signing the loan agreement.

5. Former Indian Football Captain Carlton Chapman passed away.

He was born on the 13th of April 1971 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He announced his retirement from his professional Football in 2001. He was the captain of the Indian team when India won the South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup in 1997.

6. Prince William Launches "Earth shot Prize" to boost climate innovation.

The aim of this Prize is to encourage the change and support to repair the planet and to "incentivize change and help to repair our planet over the next 10 years", and " turn pessimism into optimism" by rewarding innovation solution to environmental problems.

7. Goa government ties up with the India Post to get farmers enrolled in PM-KISAN Scheme.

This is the first such exercise in India to enroll farmers in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, whereby the postman will be utilized to benefit farmers.

10. Amazon Pay collaborates with Uber to push digital payments in India.

An online payment processing service, Amazon Pay, and a technology company that offers vehicles for hire, Uber, announced a partnership to push digital payments in India. This Partnership will integrate Amazon Pay as a payment option on the Uber app.
